“Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: It is mine to avenge: I will repay, says the Lord.”
- Romans 12:17-19 NIV
There are numerous things that can occur from day to day that can just get your blood boiling. It could be something as simple as sitting in traffic, which if you ask me is not simple at all because I despise it. Your coworkers may even make you think it’s impossible for others to have common sense. It could even be as big as someone coming up to disrespect you in your face. It’s hard not give into temptation and go off! However, think about the amount of power you hold? A lot I’m sure, don’t get me wrong. However, not as much power as the Creator of the Universe, so wouldn’t it make sense to let him handle your light work? We are God's children. He doesn’t like when we have offenders but He doesn’t want you to bother getting your hands dirty or your blood pressure to rise. He wants to take care of it Himself which in this case means you should actually pray for your enemy, they’ll need it.
Prayer Guide: Lord I’m trying to choose to overcome evil with good. I know that You will take care of my offenders so I will do my best to live in peace with everyone. I ask that You help me with this task because it’s only through You that I know I can do so. I pray for my enemies. Please forgive them Lord, because they know not what they do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
