“[Remember] this: he who sows sparingly and grudgingly will also reap sparingly and grudgingly, and he who sows generously [that blessings may come to someone] will also reap generously and with blessings.”
-2 Corinthians 9:6 AMP
“Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
-Luke 6:38 NIV
You may know someone who is truly and genuinely a giver. So much so, it bothers you if they give to you knowing they gave so much to others. Therefore you reject their gift. My siblings and I would always do that with my mother. She gives of herself so much that we’d be like “no, no ma we’re fine” and her response was always “don’t rob me of my blessing.” For a while we were confused by that because of course we thought…but you were the one who was blessing us. She later explained that in blessing us, God honors her heart. That lesson encouraged us to be more giving as well. God honors a giving heart. So next time someone wants to bless you, don’t rob them of their blessing, or yours either! Just receive it with a grateful heart & pray they get even more than they gave!
Prayer Guide: Lord please help me in being more accepting of the blessings You send my way. It says in your Word that a generous person will prosper (Proverbs 11:25). I ask that you bless the person who was generous enough to me and I thank you for helping them cross my path. I ask that You now place someone along my path so that I may be a blessing to them as well! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
